The SEC’s recent adoption of the CEO Pay Ratio rule may fall short of providing investors with useful information.

As Managing Director Deborah Lifshey outlines, the ratio’s only real new information is on the pay of the median worker. Further, it has several unintended and significant consequences, including extraordinary administrative costs and workforce communication challenges.
