Biography

Jim DeVerna is a vice president at Pearl Meyer. He specializes in a broad range of executive compensation matters and has experience consulting with clients on the design, implementation, administration, and tax consequences of various compensation arrangements. He advises clients on short- and long-term incentive plans, both qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation programs, equity compensation plans, and severance arrangements. His clients include public, private, and not-for-profit companies that range from early-stage startups to mature Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to joining Pearl Meyer, Jim was a consultant with Aon where he supported life sciences and technology clients as they developed executive pay strategies and dealt with a wide range of executive compensation issues. He earned a BA from New York University, a JD from Vermont Law School, and an LLM in taxation and employee benefits from the Georgetown University Law Center. Jim is a member of the New York Bar and the Colorado Bar.
