ABOUT THE SURVEY
SalesPlus surveys the compensation levels and competitive practices of sales positions plus positions that have a primary customer focused responsibility. The survey collects a broad range of information and provides a wide range of reports and analyses.
SalesPlus provides you with the information you need not only to assess the competitiveness of your compensation plan, but also to evaluate its effectiveness.
Our objectives are to:
- Be the highest quality survey of customer focused positions representing the information and high technology industries.
- Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy to ensure state-of-the-art compensation measurement.
- Provide unique value-added analyses and reports that go beyond traditional base salary, to include actual and target commissions and incentives, and summaries of plan design features.
- Support our participants’ needs for custom and special reports.
Data Reported
SalesPlus reports detailed compensation data for each position in the survey, along with descriptions of the organization’s compensation plan design and demographics. Specific information reported includes:
- Prior Year Target, Prior Year Actual, and Current Year Target Compensation reports target and actual compensation for base salary, incentives, total cash compensation, total direct compensation, sales volume, and a mix of cash compensation.
- Job / Individual Characteristics reports incumbent characteristics, salary range, analysis of incentive payments, and long term incentive information.
Commitment to Quality
Providing participants with the highest quality total direct compensation information is a key objective of the survey team. To ensure we meet this objective, we have implemented a rigorous quality assurance process that includes:
- Job matching guidelines, which contain clear and concise job descriptions, level guide matrices, education and experience profiles, and scope definitions.
- An annual Total Remuneration Conference, including detailed job matching sessions. Participation in the matching sessions is strongly encouraged in order that the CHiPS SalesPlus remains the highest quality, highest value sales compensation survey in the U.S.
- Survey Account Manager review of participant input using a series of statistical quality assurance programs that analyze your survey responses to identify potential matching discrepancies.
