Joseph R. Rich, Chairman of Pearl Meyer & Partners, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the age of 49. He will be profoundly missed both personally and professionally.
Mr. Rich was a nationally recognized authority on executive compensation whose contributions to Pearl Meyer & Partners (PM&P) and to the field were unparalleled. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, extraordinary business leader and thoughtful mentor to many.
Mr. Rich previously served as President of PM&P and was named Chairman of the firm in 2007. Before joining Pearl Meyer & Partners, he co-founded with his wife, Beth Florin, Executive Alliance, a leading compensation consulting boutique. Prior to that, he was a Principal and member of the national executive compensation practice of William M. Mercer. He was also a Consulting Manager in the Human Resource practice of KPMG/Peat Marwick and held several positions at Data General Corporation.
