Compensation Analyst

Are you wondering what is expected of a Compensation Associate?

As a highly motivated individual you will be providing technical and analytical support to senior consultants and project managers who help clients evaluate and design comprehensive compensation programs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing competitive pay analyses (Executive Compensation, Board of Director Compensation, Employee Pay, and Broad Based Pay).
  • Benchmarking pay against the competitive market, using regression analysis, market survey data and proxy disclosures.
  • Assisting in the modeling and design of short term and long term equity and cash incentive plans.
  • Becoming fluent in various forms of long-term incentive compensation vehicles including an understanding of option pricing models (Black-Scholes and binomial lattice), tax and accounting treatments, plan documents, and dilution calculations.
  • Interpreting complex information (SEC regulations, proxy disclosures, FAS 123R, 10k annual report analysis, etc).
  • Creating models to analyze the cost and financial impact of proposed plan designs.
  • Preparing exhibits, charts, graphs and tables for client reports and other deliverables.

To be successful you will need:

  • The ability to understand and interpret financial statements, various business performance metrics, and tax codes.
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • The ability to multi-task and take directions from multiple project managers.
  • To be highly detail oriented and have experience working independently and thinking critically about information and data.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity that includes a willingness to be responsible for your own learning to go beyond the obvious

We require:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a consulting or a corporate setting.
  • Significant MS Excel (including advanced functions), MS PowerPoint, MS Word expertise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiencies with financial performance measures and statistics.
  • Experience or familiarity with financial software tools (i.e., Standard & Poor's Compustat/ Research Insight, Equilar, etc).
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent required with a focus in finance/business, accounting, mathematics/statistics or economics.
  • An MBA, MS, CCP or CEP is a definite plus.
