Texas 250 - A Brief Review of the State's Top Public Corporations

This article rounds up the top Texas 250 corporations ranked by 2009 sales, based on proxy filings in early 2010.  The performance criteria used include total shareholder return (TSR), earnings per share (EPS) and return on capital employed (ROCE).  The companies range in size from ExxonMobil, with $275.6B in revenues, to Contango Oil and Gas at $15mm in sales.   Fully 40% of the companies are in the Energy section, and the data group also includes a large number of companies with revenues in the $100mm to $200mm range.
