Laura A. Hay

Laura Hay, Managing Director in the firm’s Charlotte office, specializes in executive and director compensation. She is frequently retained to evaluate the appropriateness of compensation programs, including total compensation, performance-based incentives, change of control/employment agreements and supplemental retirement plans.  Ms. Hay has conducted a wide array of engagements including competitive reviews of overall executive and director pay and the design of cash and equity-based incentive plans.

Prior to joining the Pearl Meyer & Partners, Ms. Hay held senior compensation consulting positions at two nationally-recognized firms and managed the executive and director benefit and stock plan programs for Duke Energy. 

Ms. Hay holds a B.S. from the University of Detroit and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She is actively involved in developing director education programs through the National Association of Corporate Directors – Research Triangle Park Chapter and is a frequent speaker on executive compensation programs.  Ms. Hay is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and WorldatWork, and holds designations as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); Certified Equity Professional (CEP); and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
